Multiplayer Setup:
Each station should have the Arcade Name set to exactly the same text (including spaces). This is essentially the multiplayer room/host name where the stations connect to. Once that is set, have the stations that are wanting to play a game together then select Multiplayer. Make sure each station has joined the room (you'll see an arcade booth for each station pop in) before starting the race. Once the race has begun, the room closes. I've just tested it out on 4 stations and was able to connect to a 4 player race this way on my end.
For multiple sessions (for example, if you have a group of 2 or more wanting to play, and then another separate group of 2 or more wanting to play), have the stations for the first session join and start the race and then have the next set of stations start a new multiplayer game which will detect the previous room has closed and start a new room.
The most common issue when initially installing Downshift is the Steering wheel not being recognized by the game. For those using Logitech devices this is not normally an issue and at most requires a restart of the system after the game has been installed and re-launching the game.
For those not using Logitech steering wheels, you will still require the Free Logitech gaming software found here. This will allow the Wheel and force feedback to be recognized by the game. After installation, restart the PC and Relaunch the game.
Keep in mind that the operator panel will display motion of the wheel, and pedals in real time to test proper key binding. some wheels may require inverting the Axis to work.
If game does not recognize the Wheel after re-start, please ensure that all drivers are up to date and the wheel is correctly tracking on your PC.
You can do this by clicking the windows search bar and typing "Set up USB Game controller" and selecting your wheel devices properties. You will be able to see if the wheel is tracking by operating your wheel and pedals while this screen is displayed.
